As an excellent Dutch still life painter Rachel enjoyed great fame and reputation in her lifetime since paintings that highlighted the beauty of flowers were highly valued by the Dutch in the 17th century. She was able to sell her paintings for prices as high as 750-1200 guilders comparatively outselling even artists like Rembrandt who rarely received more than 500 guilders for a painting.

Rachel was the first women to become a member of the Confrerie Pictura in the Hague and in 2021 she one of the first three women to be placed on permanent display along with artists such as Vermeer and Rembrandt in the Gallery of Honour in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
