Celebrating Suzanne Valadon 1865-1938

Suzanne the first woman painter admitted to the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, was an artist unconfined by any specific style. She painted many female nudes and portraits of women but unlike typical depictions her work is candid not idealising or overly sexualising women. In later years her nude self-portraits displayed her aging body realistically. This self-portrait from 1931 is an early example of a woman painter recording this aging process in art.

Being working class her route into the contemporary male dominated field of art was by modelling and she is known to have appeared in the works for many renowned artists including Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec. This background likely influenced her intimate, familiar representation of women and it was through these paintings that she transformed the genre of female nude art.

Celebrate Suzanne’s skill by carrying this exceptional self-portrait on one of our equally beautifully designed eco phone cases. Adding both protection and beauty these cases are composed of a flexible yet tough, 100% biodegradable mix of bamboo fibre and bioplastic.

With a non-slip smooth feel our eco case is scratch resistant, has been drop tested for shock absorbance and has a raised rim design to protect the screen. It has a beautiful natural look which really enhances our design aesthetic.

Our Valadon inspired design is printed to high-quality in long lasting water-based inks on the back face of your device case. The sides and front edges of our case remain touched displaying the highly tactile biomaterial, because you just have to show-off your eco-credentials!
