One of the first blooms breaking through as winter ends, the trumpets of the daffodil herald the spring and have come to represent new beginnings and rebirth. They are seen as positive and hopeful, white petals are seen as peaceful and forgiving while yellow are considered auspicious and full of energy.
The daffodil became the national flower of Wales in the 19th century and are now worn each year on March 1st for St David’s day.
